Little Tidbits - Part 2

Here are some more random tidbits :)

Two french braids for church on Aug. 17, 2014 - courtesy Daniel Tiger in the background.  I think I braided the one side three times even. lol

Monday, Aug. 18th, was the premier of season two of Daniel Tiger.  It is the only episode we have watched live.  Daniel got a new baby sister, Margaret!  I was probably more excited for this episode than Henlie was. :)

Recently, Matt's aunt and uncle have moved to Utah from Michigan.  Thanks to this, we were able to travel to Stansbury Park to witness the triplets' baptism on Aug. 23rd. It was a lovely baptism, and the triplets got a special treat when a friend of theirs from Michigan was able to be there and give one of the talks.  We also got to enjoy hanging out with family and seeing Ryan and Emily's new home.

Henlie is lucky to have an Uncle McKade to take her up front to watch Gracie get baptised.
I love how he has a hand on her :)

I'm pretty sure there was some tickling involved to get that face ;)

That Sunday, we also had family stuff going on with Matt's cousin Alison's mission farewell in American Fork.  We made it to the church fine, and on our way to their house for lunch after, we opted to follow Dad.  We had to make a U-turn.  Apparently we should have just listened to Google maps after all :)

That night, the family fun continued with everyone over to Mom and Dad's for Curtis's birthday!  I had my first ever tres leches cake (I know, terrible, since it is Curtis's signature dessert since his mission).  Only it was chocolate.  It was delicious! farewell/Curtis's birthday

On Tuesday, August 26th, Henlie and I had dentist appointments.  We are both no cavity kids ;)  Since Henlie doesn't quite have all of her teeth since she isn't two yet, they didn't do a full-on real visit, just a "happy check" to get her used to going to the dentist.  She liked climbing in the chair and checking out new places.  We also go to watch quite a bit of Frozen.  Dr. Farley says she looks good, and he can see the buds where her two-year molars will be coming in.  Henlie also got a balloon and some prizes.  They love her :)

Climbing into the chair.
 Playing with her balloon.

 Watching a bit of Frozen.
Going up and down in the chair!

About to get her teeth counted (18).

Getting in the car to go home with all of her loot.
And her sunglasses ;)

Balloon, bouncy ball, mini slinky, and a sticker!

On Saturday, Aug. 30, we went to Springville for my cousin, Kim's, bridal shower.  We played some fun games and had yummy food.  The Hutchings girls were there, so that was fun because I hardly see them.  I won two prizes. :)  Henlie found a new way to sit on chairs, too.

Then she had to put the Peek-a-boo bear there too.
She loves that bear ;)

Payson Golden Onion Days 2014 - Carnival

Posted by Amber

Matt was in Pleasanton with the band over Labor Day weekend, so Henlie and I enjoyed some time together with the local festivities for Onion Days.  Friday night was 1 ticket rides at the carnival, so I took the night off of work and took Henlie to the carnival.  Usually carnivals are expensive adventures, but at only 1 ticket per ride, we did pretty well.  She had a great time, as did I.  I was a little concerned she wouldn't be able to do much because she's still little, but she went on most of them herself.  I only went on a couple with her, and honestly, two of the ones I went with her on she didn't really need me :)  We had lots of fun.  We also went through the boutique in the park afterward, and I bought myself a $12 maxi skirt.  I was so excited haha.  Then it was time to head home to put the baby to bed.

First ride - a very helpful worker took her by the hand and strapped her in.
She even made sure she got her off the ride first. :)

Henlie has the con - and she LOVES it!

With Momma on the dragon roller coaster.

She pretty much stayed in the corner from the force, but she had a great time!
Also, it's hard to take pictures and keep a firm grip on your phone lol

 Riding the train.

Henlie driving the wheel.  She loves driving.

Waiting in line for the car carousel.

I thought she'd be too little for the motorbike, so I stuck her in a jeep.
She probably would have been fine on the bike.

 Again, this girl loves driving.

Caterpillar roller coaster.  She doesn't look too thrilled here.
Also, on the first bend, I thought she was going to fly out!

Once it got going, she LOVED it, too!

Standing in line for the Ferris Wheel.

Holding onto Momma's keys so she doesn't run off and get lost.

 Ferris Wheel selfie :)

 On the carousel.

She so didn't need me with her.  She held on just fine :)

Real Salt Lake vs Seattle Sounders

August 16th was the fourth game of the mini pack of RSL tickets I'd gotten Matt.  It was an afternoon game, so Henlie was able to come with us.

 Game Day hair :)

We had a grand time, and we took the shuttle again ;)  Mostly because we didn't get our stellar parking spot because we were too late.  It worked out though.

 Riding the shuttle

Henlie loved to sing the Battle Anthem and was so adorable.  There was another family with a little boy behind us who was swinging his shirt above his head.  It was adorable because he was little ;)

One sad note, though, was a lot of my pictures are lost because something went wonky with the camera in storing them.  I have the pictures in the thumbnails, but if you try to open them, it's the same broken image for all of them.  I was sad.  It had all of my pictures of Mulholland celebrating after his goal too.  At least none of the broken ones were of Henlie :)

It was very hot that day.  Daddy was spraying Henlie with the water in her sippy :)

Okay, not ALL of my soccer pictures are lost.

Little Tidbits - Part 1

Here are some more happenings and/or pictures that don't warrant their own post.

And this is how they watch Daniel Tiger
(It was like World Tiger Day or something)

 Twinners

I love how Christopher is leaning into Henlie :)

On Sunday, August 3rd, McKade got a puppy and we had cake for Dad's birthday.  We named the puppy Nessa.  (It was sort of collaborative...okay, McKade narrowed it to two names and Jenn and I preferred Nessa, so I just kept calling her that until he decided that was officially her name. haha)

 haha tongue shot :)

For FHE on August 5th, Matt and Henlie had to show me that crayons really can be candles.  (I've seen on Pinterest that they burn for like 30 minutes, so handy if you are in a pinch and need some light....)

Saturday, August 9th, we headed up to Wallsburg (my first time ever there) for a party welcoming home Matt's cousin Chase from his mission to Australia.  They had yummy Wallaby's catering.  It was nice to visit with family. (And that cinnamon butter! mmm)

Monday, August 11th, was our 7 year wedding anniversary.  We were going to go do sealings on Saturday, the 10th, but things didn't work out to do them.  (We have never done proxy sealings...) However, we did end up taking Henlie to Grandma's and still buying some new Gs, because we (especially Matt) needed them.  BTW, LOVE the carinessa tops!  And, I swear, if I get pregnant and/or need to nurse again, I'm buying all new Gs because the new styles look awesome!  Sad note, though, I went by my measurements and the sizing guide on the cotton/poly square neck top, and it was so TOO big.  New sizing charts worked great.  Old style, not so much.

After buying new garments, we headed to Home Depot to look at screen doors.  Flies have been the bane of my existence!  After Home Depot, we went to the mall to buy a bathroom scale.  We've talked about getting one for years. haha  We wandered the whole dang mall, just to find them in the store we started with.  They had a very small selection, and they faced the wall in a corner, so we didn't see them on our cursory walk-through.  Oh well, good times, and good exercise!

Apparently we are old fogies now at 7 years of marriage.  I think that is the most lame anniversary we have had. hahahaha  We still enjoyed it, though!

On Tuesday, August 12, 2014, Camile gave birth to Danica Lynn.  Henlie and I visited them after visiting Grumpy and the chickens on their first day home from the hospital (Aug. 14th).  She's a cutie!

I love this candid picture :)

Well, even though they are little tidbits, this post is getting long.  Guess I'll do some more later!
