Children's Arts Festival

Posted by Amber

Henlie and I have spent a lot of time in Springville this month.  Friday, June 13th, we ventured over to the Art Museum for the Children's Arts Festival, part of the Art City Days celebrations.  It was a great price = free!  Henlie was kind of little for a lot of the activities, but we had fun.

We stopped by the information booth and got the art scavenger hunt card and a map.  They also let us know when we were done, we could pick a prize.  We first stopped at a booth doing paper plate visors.  Henlie loves coloring, and wore her hat most of the time we were outside.  They made it kind of big on her, though :)

We wandered a bit more and found Matt's aunt Roxanne, who was at the Under the Sea booth.  They had cardboard sea creatures you put under your paper and then did crayon rubbings.  It was one of the few things Henlie could really do :)  Aunt Roxanne took a couple pictures and sent them to me :)  It was fun to see her.

Saying hi to Aunt Roxanne :)

Thanks for sending me the picture, Roxanne!

After visiting with Roxanne, we colored some sunglasses (yes, real ones) and grabbed a bracelet and pen from Warren Orthodontics.  The sunglasses are quite big on her, but it was fun.  After that, Henlie colored with sidewalk chalk.  They had a whole lot of chalk and lots of sidewalk.  Henlie loved it.  She got really, colorfully into it :)

She sat right down on an existing picture, getting her bottom all colorful.
Very exciting for the first day wearing those overalls (which were mine when I was little haha).

Then she got really into it and laid down.  I was quite glad she was in overalls so only one article of clothing got colored.  No worries, it all washed out :)

*Side note* She totally picked out her socks.  I was happy they matched lol

After sidewalk chalk, we went inside the museum.  Henlie liked the fountain there.  We were able to get spots for story time, too.  After stories, we headed back to the information booth to get a prize.  Crayola was a sponsor, so all of the prizes were provided by them.  Henlie picked a four-pack of crayons.  Then it was off to home :)

 Chillin' in the museum

 Story time!
