06 16 15 - Andrew being my snuggle bunny.
06 16 15 - Andrew calmed down easier while holding hands :)
06 18 15 - Henlie wanted to sit on that side, but there wasn't really room. I told her she could sit there as long as she didn't bump Andrew. Her solution was to hold onto the arm of the couch. :)
06 19 15 - There was a protest outside our house.
06 19 15 - More of the protest.
06 19 15 - Andrew got a shot, and an awesome circle bandage with Cookie Monster on it :)
He weighed 3.49 kg or 7 lbs 11 oz.
06 19 15 - She made a nest for her and Piglet.
From Facebook 06 21 15 - Henlie is bugging Matt using her crayons to "check [his] body." She's singing, "Stop, and listen to stay safe," from Daniel Tiger. I tell her, "You'd better stop and listen to stay safe." She says, "Nope! Daddy needs to stop and listen to stay safe." Matt says, "That's not the point of the song!" Needless to say, she's now stuck under Daddy's legs and forced into a snuggle. Haha
From Facebook 06 22 15 - Henlie likes to watch Bo on the Go. I try to make sure she actually acts out what Bo says to do instead of passively watching the show. Part of my method is a high five when she does something. Well, she's watching it right now on my phone and just boogied with Bo with no prompting, then she comes up to me with her hand up and says, "I need a high five." grin emoticon
06 23 15 - Grandma and Grandpa Biggs sent Henlie a postcard from their California vacation. However, it appears it took a slight detour on its way to Peru.
06 23 15 - Daddy snuggles.
06 23 15 - Henlie gave herself a pretty good goose egg.
From Facebook 06 24 15 - Henlie is too smart. I tried to steal her nose, and she knew it was just a finger.... lol
From Facebook 06 24 15 - Henlie-ism: She calls the pins & needles sensation "sparkles." Love her
smile emoticon
06 26 15 - Henlie can draw faces now.
Henlie (slightly distressed): It's purple.
Matt: Yep, it's purple-dark. (Henlie's usual term.)
Henlie: No! It's not purple-dark! It's just purple!
I think she doesn't want to go to bed yet....
06 29 15 - I like this yard near our house.
From Facebook 06 29 15 - No, not yes. Yes, yes! - Henlie
06 29 15 - Andrew compared to Henlie's diaper.
06 30 15 - Are Oreo Duos a thing in the US? If not, they should be.
On June 13th, we took a family outing to the Lima temple grounds. Depending on the route we take to church, we pass the temple on our way, but we hadn't been over to wander the grounds yet, and since we couldn't go to the Trujillo temple open house, we figured we should at least visit the Lima temple :)
Andrew all ready to go in his wrap!
Elevator selfie :)
See that speck on the wall of the temple? That's a snail :)
Matt and Henlie looking at the flowers...or maybe the snail :)
I was trying to take a picture of the temple, and Henlie came running after me :)
Many flowers and trees around the grounds.
In the top middle? That's another snail :)
Also, that tree on the top right is pretty awesome looking, I think.
She started the day with two braids...by the time we got to the temple, she only had one.
Family History center / Henlie under a picture of Jesus and children / An awesome-looking door
The plants on the right remind me of giant dandelions.
Had to get a picture of Moroni :)
Henlie peeking through the bush at the temple and Moroni.
I'm glad we took the opportunity to go look at the grounds and feel some of the peace the temple brings. It also provides a good opportunity to talk to Henlie about Mommy and Daddy's temple sealing and that we can be together as a family forever :)
On June 10th, I tested my new wrap with a walk to the park with both kids on my own. Henlie had lost all shows for the day, so I thought a few hours at the park would be a good distraction, and then she could take a nap on our way back home. I made some sandwiches and cookies and sliced an apple and packed a blanket so we could have a picnic.
Andrew and me hanging out at the playground while sister plays.
Happily playing. It wasn't crowded at all :)
Mom, Andrew, and Henlie
Her new little friend. They're throwing leaves to the tree.
Then they got a little boy friend too. They had a grand time.
Picnic time!
Before the creepy guy joined us.
06 01 15 - Maybe I'm just silly or weird, but I had to document my first Chinese take-out that came in Chinese take-out boxes! Turns out they're an American invention and not really used in China after all. Oh well. Thanks Chifa Express for the experience anyway!
06 01 15 - Henlie made a reading nest.
06 03 15
06 03 15 - Henlie decided her baby (Piglet) needed to do tummy time with Andrew.
06 03 15 - Then she had to use her camera phone (toy remote that she always pretends is a phone) to take pictures of them, just like Mommy was doing lol
06 04 15 - Henlie loves books.
06 04 15 - Henlie holding Andrew's hand :)
She was comforting him since he was crying after I put him down in order to change her. She's a good big sister sometimes.
06 05 15 - Andrew is surprised he finally made it to his due date!
(Or I just happened to catch his startle reflex :))
06 06 15 - Henlie learned a lesson in lactation and anatomy.
She came in while I was nursing Andrew and said, "He's eating your boob? (Lifts her shirt) Like this? (Pinches herself) I have little boobs. Baby Andrew has no boobs!"
06 08 15 - Henlie helping Daddy check out at the grocery store.
06 09 15 - Andrew had another weight check. He weighed 3.25 kg or 7 lbs 3 oz. He was cleared to exclusively breastfeed, excepting one bottle with vitamins and iron. He got to come off of the fortifier, which was good because we had run out. Also, he really didn't like it :)
06 09 15 - We finally bought a wrap for Andrew!
06 10 15 - I went to check on my boys, and they had both fallen back to sleep :)
06 10 15 - Don't let this face confuse you, Matt wanted this picture taken. Henlie made him a pretty princess lol.
06 11 15 - Andrew's officially Peruvian and American.
Pictured is his Peruvian DNI (ID), his Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA, acts as his US birth certificate), and his US Passport.
06 11 15 - One of Andrew's baby shower gifts still had a security tag, so I took some scissors to it. This is the aftermath.
06 12 15
06 12 15 - "I did it!" She was so excited she helped Andrew with his binky all by herself :)
06 14 15 - When we got home from church, one of our squirrel friends was on the ground.
06 14 15 - The squirrel taking off.
06 15 15 - Andrew "selfie"
06 15 15 - Andrew turned 3 months old!
