Hadfield Family Camp 2014 - Part 2

Posted by Amber

Friday, July 25th, we had kind of a lazy morning.  We had some yummy breakfast, went for a walk down the lane, looked at the flowers and bugs, watered the horses, and looked at the grasshoppers the bigger littles had caught.  Then, it was time to go down to Payson Lakes!  They decided to go to Box Lake because there were frogs there to be caught!

A couple of my flower pictures turned out on our walk.

Henlie and Freckles (pictured here) have the same color of hair :)

Henlie picked a couple of flowers on our walk.

I decided not to wear my swimming suit to the lake.  It worked out.  Although, I did have a sort of wet bottom from sitting in the grass/reeds trying to find the dang frogs. The others caught them, but we didn't see or catch any ourselves.  I feel bad, though.  We had one of the frogs they caught and showed us, and by the time we walked back to where the rest of the group was sitting, the frog had died. :(

Thanks to Grandma for providing us a life vest!

Mocha actually got in the water.  I was surprised.
I was also surprised and a bit sad to hear she actually got in and swam to Matt, and I missed it.

Heading down the shore to where the other kids had luck finding frogs.
We had no luck.  But, we did see a whole lot of dragon flies.  Most of them were the same color as Henlie's life jacket :)

We lasted like 1 1/2 hours or something is all.  Then, we headed back to camp.  Dad and John were back from their four-wheeler ride, but camp was pretty quiet.  It was relaxing.

They fixed Melody's bike, so she was testing it and offered to take Henlie for a ride.

She lasted maybe five minutes haha.

Too bad she didn't stay asleep when we pulled her off of the bike.
Even though she sat still snuggling Grandpa, she didn't fall back to sleep.

Hey look! We were there haha.
Shortly after, Matt had to leave because he had a pipe band gig in Salt Lake that evening.

Apparently we had just missed Jason and Camile getting to the lake.  They brought up one of her parents' paddle boats.  Looks like they had fun!  Eventually everyone else made it back to camp, and there was more hanging out.  Jackie pulled out her Baby Band stuff for the kids to play with.  Charlie and Henlie drove cars on Grandma's Blue Road (her jeans haha).  Grandpa saddled up Jewel and gave the kidlets rides.  Funny story - while Henlie was riding, Grandpa was quizzing her on what a horse says.  One of the times he asked, "What does the horse say?" Jewel answered.  It was epic timing :)

 haha that face

Uncle Devan is so cute with his nieces :)

Yeah, that's like the only picture I have where you can tell she is happy about the situation.
Becky was pretty much the designated seat belt for the littles to ride :)

haha - I love this picture.
She's like a mini drunken hobo :)

Henlie ended up not feeling very well after we got back from the lake.  I don't know if it was something at the lake, all the junk food, or eating so much dirt, but she ended up with pretty bad diarrhea.  Poor girl.  Her bottom got so sore :(  Not feeling well and not really getting a nap, we hung out in the tent for quite awhile in the afternoon trying to get her to sleep.  Didn't work.
I set up a little quiet time station for her on Matt's bed since he was gone.

She ended up snuggling Grandma in the evening.  I don't know what it is about Grandma, but she has the magic touch that can make Henlie fall asleep after awhile.  She totally was asleep by like 7pm.  Unfortunately, she didn't stay asleep all night.

Darrell and Kris Ann came up Friday night too.  We hung out at their trailer for most of the later evening while the kids played night games.  Although, we did hokey pokey with the kids during their little dance party before playing games haha.  Since Henlie had woken back up, she was awake when Matt got back to camp late in the evening.  She did eventually fall asleep.  Poor girl didn't feel well for a few days, though.

I learned my lesson the night before and didn't zip her sleeping bag.  It actually was pretty warm, though, even in the middle of the night.
