The kids' doctor's appointments went well. They were both healthy and got no shots. :) We did get Andrew's vaccination record updated, though, along with a second opinion on seeing a neurologist. (It appears to be sort of a standard thing in Peru for preemies, whereas in the US, it's more if there is something that is a cause for concern. Needless to say, Andrew has never seen the neurologist :))
Henlie weighed 30.4 lbs (63%), and was 37 in (75%) tall. Andrew weighed 4.73 kg or 10 lbs 7 oz (.02%), was 22.3 in long (less than 2%), and had a head circumference of 15.4 in (1%). Dr. Fullmer didn't switch it to the preemie chart, but looking at the standard chart for his adjusted age, he was spot-on.
Monday was the start of the slowing down of our vacation. Our engagements became a lot more spaced out, which was rather nice :)
Mostly we chatted and ate food. Because what else do you do at parties? We sang to Benjamin and he opened some presents. My family also kindly gave Andrew some gifts. Getting some 3-6 month clothes has been helpful :)
My aunt Christine also gave him a gift as if from my mom. It was a fuzzy owl blanket. (My mom collected owls. She would also crochet afghans for new babies and weddings, so being a blanket was very appropriate.)
We took some photos with the grandparents and said our goodbyes as it was getting late (and we were used to being an hour ahead to boot) and Henlie gets crazy and cranky when she's tired.
Wednesday, July 29th, was set aside for family pictures! We used Sarah Dixon Photography, as has become tradition for any of our photography needs. Matt didn't want to drive far (or do pictures in the first place...), so we opted to take them at Salem Pond. Henlie was a bit of a crazy by the time we started, but we still got some cute ones.
